Summary: Mt. Diablo Unified Student Services successful grant application in 2014 resulted in the establishment of Mt. Diablo Unified Youth Employment Services (YES) operated by School Linked Services. Priority populations to be served per grant include foster youth, homeless youth, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Outreach, engagement, and employment readiness services to LGBTQ youth will be provided in partnership with the Rainbow Community Center, a board approved MOU partnership agency.
Funding: 033 3977 - Workforce Investment Act Grant
Fiscal Impact $10,000 from categorical grant, per grant proposal. No impact to general fund.
Recommendation: Approve the contract with Rainbow Community Center.
