Summary:
|
In response to COVID-19 and the need to redesign the educational model for the opening of school for Fall 2020 to full time distance learning, staff is recommending that the first day of school for students is moved from Thursday, August 13, 2020 to Monday, August 17, 2020. The "In Service PD Days" scheduled for October 12, 2020 and for March 1, 2021 would be moved to August 13, 2020 and August 14, 2020. This adjustment would allow teachers and staff to receive additional professional development on how to provide rigorous online instruction and prepare their online classrooms. The student year would remain at 180 days of instruction and will attend school on these days. Bargaining groups have been consulted to mitigate any foreseen impact on different work groups. This revision has no fiscal impact on the district.
