Summary:
To access any available State Funding for New Construction and Modernization projects, the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) requires districts to show eligibility, both for New Construction and for Modernization. Modernization eligibility will allow the district to seek reimbursement on prior eligible projects as well as seek state funding for future, eligible modernization projects. The State Facility Program currently provides a 60% match on eligible modernization projects with the district’s share being 40%. For New Construction, the split is 50%/50%. There is a potential for millions of dollars in reimbursement for both past and future Modernization projects, and this work will be prioritized upon hiring a new Director of Facilities & Bonds. The new construction eligibility with OPSC is still underway and School Facilities Consultants will provide that report when completed.
